Comments: | Heiau in Naholoku described by archaeologist Winslow Walker following a survey of Kaupo in 1929: "Location: In the pasture belonging to Antone Marciel Sr. near the beginning of the upper trail leading to Nuu. Description: A small heiau combining the open platform and enclosed types. It is built on a small hill and opens toward the sea. The measurements are 80 x 35 feet. The grassy hill-top forms the open platform at the south and north of it is the enclosure with walls 6 feet high. Inside is a pavement of pebbles where a house evidently stood. No coral seen." |
