Comments: | Place mentioned by archaeologist Winslow Walker as the location of a heiau in his 1929 survey of Kaupo: "Heiau at Anakalehua. Location: Three-quarters of a mile above Site 163 on the side of a little gully running into the main gulch emptying into Nuu. Description: A small heiau platform open to the sea and walled on two sides. It measures 44 x 33 feet and has a 10 x 15 foot enclosure in the N.W. corner. Many of the stones have been removed to build a cattle wall across the north side. There is a slightly higher terrace at this side and pebbles and coral were found on it." |
