Kahuai

Feature:Ahupuaa
Comments:Identified as an ahupuaa on the circa-1880s Hawaiian Government Survey map of Kaupo.

Located above Mokulau, on the open grassland between Elialii and Maalo gulches.

The area is also called Paanene.

Historian Samuel Kamakau uses the spelling Kahuwai in the legend of Heleipawa published in the newspaper Ke Au Okoa on Oct. 21, 1869.
