Comments:Identified as an ahupuaa on the circa-1880s Hawaiian Government Survey map of Kaupo.

Diacretical spelling comes from the book "Place Names of Hawaii". According to that book, “a hau tree grove here was famed for illicit love affairs”.

Mokulau Landing is located in Maalo.
