Comments:Identified as an ahupuaa on the circa-1880s Hawaiian Government Survey map of Kaupo. Shore area located in western Mamalu Bay. Diacretical spelling comes from Kaupo native Josephine Marciel in an interview with scholar Mary Kawena Pukui at Marciel's house in May 1960.
