Onepoko

Feature:Well
Comments:Former well in the shoreline area of Nuu destroyed by heavy surf, according to an article in the newspaper Ka Leo o ka Lahui published July 6, 1891: "Ma Waiemi punawai, ua hoolueai iho la i ke a a ke kai a paa pu, aohe ike ia iho he punawai, malaila kou mea kakau kahi i kiu ai, a pela pu me ka lua wai o Onepoko he awaawa kai wale no." (At Waiemi spring, the jaws of the sea opened and covered it. The spring could not be seen. Your correspondent saw it himself. It was also the case at Onepoko well, which turned brackish from seawater.)
