Comments:Portion (ili) of Popoiwi ahupuaa mentioned in the native testimony for Land Commission Award 5178D (1852): "Palina, an ili in Popoiwi, Kaupo, has been a family possession since 1819."

Spelled "Paina" in an appendix list of ahupuaa and large ili in "Report of the Superintendent of the US Coast and Geodetic Survey Showing the Progress of the Work From July 1, 1901, to June 30, 1902".
