Comments:Place mentioned in the death notices of the newspaper Ka Nupepa Kuokoa on May 25, 1865: "Mei 8, ma Wailukuwai, Kaupo, make o Puahou w." (Puahou, female, passed away May 8, at Wailukuwai, Kaupo.)

In 1909, J. W. N. Kaohele, the local representative for the Kuokoa Home Rula newspaper, lived at Wailukuwai.
