Laia

Feature:Heiau
Comments:Heiau in Puuomaiai ahupuaa near St. Joseph Church.

Described by archaeologist Winslow Walker in 1929: "Location: On a hill known as Puu o Kaupo near the Catholic Church. It is between the road and Kamanawa point. Description: A small heiau measuring 50 x 65 feet. It is the rough open platform type facing the sea. The arrangement of the terraces has been greatly disturbed, but there are no smooth pavements to be seen. Modern walls extend over part of the heiau. Some coral and pebbles found."
