Mana

Feature:Undefined place
Comments:Upland area near Nuu.

Mentioned in the Nupepa Kuokoa on November 22, 1884: "E na lede maka onaona o Puuomaiai, a me na keiki o ka uka iuiu o Mana, e lawe aku iaia nei ma ko oe poli, i hoa kaunu no na po mahina lailai." (O sweet-faced ladies of Puuomaiai and children of the lofty uplands of Mana, take it [the newspaper] to your breast like a lover on calm moonlit nights.)

As reported in the Nupepa Kuokoa in March 1890, "Ua he’e kahi poe aia ma Mana kahi i noho ai, he kupa keia poe o Nuu." (Some natives of Nuu have fled to Mana to survive.)

Mana is also referenced in the Nupepa Kuokoa on September 13, 1918: "Hoi mai Nuu mai, pii no ke ala kuahiwi o ia hoi, o Mana." (Returned from Nuu by climbing the mountain trail, Mana.)
