| Comments: | Place in Kumunui ahupuaa where Puu Makaa heiau is located. Mentioned by archaeologist Winslow Walker in his field notes from a survey of Kaupo in 1929: "Puu Makaa at Polikua, Kumunui". Walker expanded on this description in his unpublished 1931 manuscript Archaeology of Maui: "Puumakaa Heiau, Site 144. Location: Polikua, at the first bend of the road leading mauka from the school-house at Kaupo. Elevation 500 feet." |
