On November 28 at Kumunui, Kaupo, Hana, Maui, death came for P. Puhalahua and wrested him away from this life. He was born in Kaupo on New Year’s Day of 1850 and so was 42 years old when he passed away. He was an educated man and served as a teacher, policeman, mail carrier, lawyer for the lower courts1 and notary public. He also served as a news agent for this paper for many years. His wife is in mourning along with a sole child2 and many friends. Farewell.
